What is the name of your Dad's company if you don't mind me asking. I am in the 3D seismic interpretation software business. Just curious.

I was disappointed when I read about the demise of the CrunchPad, primarily because I wanted one. My iPhone has trained me to have the Internet handy when I'm watching TV, but the iPhone screen size is constraining. A 12" touchpad would be fantastic. Botton line - I'm a believer in the need for a device like the CrunchPad. I'd probably use it at least 4-5 hours a week, more once I learned how to take advantage of it. I'm sort of interested in Apple's rumored tablet, but I have no doubt it will be a lot more expensive and if the rumors that Apple's tablet will run a version of the iPhone o/s are true, that could be trouble unless the iPhone o/s is extended to support a fully functional browser, flash, etc.

The drama surrounding the end of the CrunchPad is interesting. Perhaps another reason why Arrington chose to partner rather than subcontract is that he didn't really want to be in the business long-term and planned to license the IP and the trademark to the partner for a quarterly check.

I'm quite surprised by the actions of the partner for two reasons: i) Having Arrington and TechCrunch push the product is a pretty strong leg up for your go-to-market efforts, and ii) I would think that Fusion Garage have now put themselves on the blacklist of every entrepreneur in the tech industry as well as the blacklist of every VC that does their homework. Fusion Garage has demonstrated themselves to be unethical and they've done so in a very public way.
