Viewzi Launched Today, er Tonight!
June 9, 2008
Dallas-based Viewzi decided to publicly launch their new visual search engine on the same day as the 3G iPhone (note to PR guys, never try to trump Jobs). Check out the Tech Crunch review here. I have talked about Viewzi several times in the past. Their interface is beautiful. I love it! As a beta tester, I received this letter:
We’ve had some great conversations with our beta testers during Viewzi’s private beta over the last couple of months. We haven’t reached out to some of you directly during this time but we have heard you. We read every single comment that is submitted to the site feedback form, posted to twitter, and added to blogs via posts and comments. We want to say “thank you” and give our beta testers a head’s up on what we’ll be doing over the next week and ask one last favor during this private beta period.
The Viewzi private beta program has been a great success. We now are just shy of 10,000 users on the site after a couple months in the private beta. Because of you, we’ve identified dozens of bugs and fixed them. We also were able to take feature upgrade suggestions and wrap them into the product you’ll be seeing go live this week. Others will be forthcoming over the next several weeks. So thanks for helping us make Viewzi better than we could have imagined!Today is a big day for us! We’re “taking down the wall” from Viewzi this evening by removing the requirement for users to log in to be able to search. Anyone and everyone will have full, unfettered access to the beta site. We hope to make Monday an even more exciting news day on top of the much anticipated news coming out of San Francisco. ;-) We’ve got a few surprises for those of you using the site and expect our fair share of attention via some well placed news coverage.Speaking of news coverage the only way to get access to Viewzi today will be through the link in TechCrunch’s Viewzi link (http://www.viewzi.com/search/techcrunch/iphone) in their article on us today. This evening the site will available to everyone at http://www.viewzi.comNow we’d like to ask one last favor to our private beta users. Please use Viewzi extensively over the next couple of weeks and let us know about any bugs you come across as well as all the feature enhancements you’d like to see. We have a feedback link at the bottom of the page in Viewzi where you can submit your findings. If you prefer other methods of communication you are welcome to add your comments to our twitter stream at http://twitter.com/viewzi and I’ll make sure the proper team member gets your comments.Thank you again for participating in our private beta program. Each beta user plays an integral part in the overall evaluation of Viewzi. We hope that the process is mutually beneficial as we work to revolutionize search as we know it.
