Great idea: Amazon TextBuyIt!

Okay, this is simply a great idea. See something you want at a traditional store? Text the UPC code to Amazon and they will send it to you. Awesome! I couldn’t get it to work, but the idea is perfect. Prediction: if this catches on retailers will quit printing the human readable UPC codes on products. Solution: use the camera on the phone to ‘read’ the barcode instead. :) Hat Tip - Techcrunch.

    hmmm… if I am shopping in a traditional store, wouldn’t that mean I am probably going to BUY in a traditional store? If I want a deal and think I can get it online, I look online and don’t bother going to the store…
