Blogger Profile: Eddie Renz from TI

Eddie Renz, a business analyst from TI and local blogger, (finally) responded to my 3Qs request from last month:
How has blogging affected your life, business, family?
Blogging is quite possibly the most therapeutic thing I have ever done besides actually therapy. It always has time for me. My blog always listens. I’ve made some big mistakes with my blog by writing about relationships, breaking up with girls, passive-aggressively letting people know that they have let me down. I’ve learned from those mistakes. Using my site as an outlet is allowed, but using it to hurt people isn’t. Many of my posts are emotional, but most are supposed to be about me and genuine and real and whatever it is that I find funny.
What is your favorite blog post (i.e. one that you wrote) and why? http://www.postednote.com/2005/04/blog-patrol-now-taking-applications.html
I wrote the above post when blogging was really taking off. In 2005 everyone seemed to be on the blogging band wagon, but I feel like I was blogging before blogging was cool. Back in 2001 a few of my friends had web logs and then we heard of Blogger and started using it as it was one of the first free content management solutions. Later I switched to Wordpress, but some of my archives are still on Blogger.
What are your favorite blogs (please provide links)?
www.chirky.com - Jes is not only a friend, but she writes about the most random and intersting things.
www.dooce.com - Heather B. Armstrong is one of the first extremely popular bloggers. She now blogs for a living and is extremely hilarious. I’ve been reading her site now religiously for about 6 years.
www.edgymama.com - I read her site because we became friends after I designed a website for her. She is witty and smart and loves the environment and her kids.
www.jasonmulgrew.com - I read about him in People Magazine and was surprised that he was the most available bachelor one year for his blog. I read it - it was surprisingly funny and very crude. I like crude humor as much as the next guy, but this was pushing it. However, like Jerry Springer, you sometimes can’t help but watch a train wreck.
