Er, I think you’ll fine Thomas asked Valleywag to take down the picture because it was copyright and not createive commons– which is totally his right and nothing to do with the Flickr censorship issue.

Haha, censorship? Nah, Thomas is just asserting his right to be kind of a dick at me. As another kind-of-a-dick, I respect that.

I just thought the irony was interesting. Thomas’ criticism of Flickr and the obvious conflict of interest that criticism creates has been tiresome. The fact that he, as was his right to do, made you take down a photo he took was ironic. Flickr, of course, can ‘censor’ any photo it wishes. Just because both Thomas and Flickr are well within their rights to remove certain pictures doesn’t make it ‘right’.

Seems like those who seek controversy certainly find (make) it. Thomas’ knack for being in the middle of all kinds of this stuff is staggering.
On a semi-related note, what the hell is zoomr all about, it seems too obvious to call it a flickr clone, but it doesn’t even seem to do that very well. If you are going to reinvent the mainstay you’d better have something to offer.
