iPhone Update
June 18, 2007
We are getting excited about the upcoming iPhone launch (June 29th). So much so that three of our developers are attending the iPhone Developers Camp being held in July 6-8th in San Francisco. I use the Blackjack today, but plan to migrate to the new platform on the 29th. My only concerns have been answered by Apple today:

From what I found, the iPhone will not do Microsoft Exchange. This is important to me and my clients and I don’t see a work around. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jason

Reminder - iPhones run “molasses in January” EDGE. Your BlackJack uses crazy fast HSPDA…You may be in for a big shock.
Maybe wait until someone you know has one and politely ask them to run the throughput/latency test. Rumor has it that a 3G iPhone will be out by christmas.

Ironically, the Blackjack is running EDGE too, simulated HSPDA is the frontend. This is anticipation of the network upgrade, i.e. so we won’t have to buy new phones. Yes, when the network gets up to speed we will have to change out the iPhone, but that is a couple of years off.

Jason,
IMAP is a great mail protocol for Joe Consumer, but I am with you on the Exchange situation. If they don’t wirelessly sync with Exchange, they will not be able to capture any of business market. I see no work around.
