Flickr is my Twitter

March 14, 2007

Everyone is talking about Twitter at SXSW. I don’t know how many times people have asked me, "Do you twitter?" Overnight twitter has turned into a verb. What is Twitter? Chris Brogan explains,

For those of you not yet using it, Twitter is a communications gateway that asks the question: “What are you doing now?” Users can answer and hear their friends’ answers via SMS, via IM, or on a webpage. Updates have to be under 140 characters. Think somewhere between IRC and IM and that’s Twitter.

I looked at using the service and ultimately realized that I do twitter, but instead of using Twitter I use Flickr. Throughout each day I snap photos with my camera phone and send them to Flickr in real-time. So if you subscribe to my Flickr feed or just check out my Flickr page you know what I am up to. I think Twitter can be a useful tool and I will be thinking more about it over the next few weeks. But for now, you can check out my twitters on Flickr…  Also, here are some thoughts on the future of twitter from Winer.
