Open Source Year in Review

December 28, 2005

CIO Magazine has a great list of the "Top Five Open Source Events of 2005" on their website.  The list:

  • Red Hat makes money from free software
  • Sun is making everything open source (except Java)
  • Motorola uses Linux in their phones
  • Firefox created 100MM downloads
  • VCs invested $400MM in open source start ups in 2005

They ask the question: What will happen in 2006?
