Odeo follow-up.
June 23, 2005
I listened to several Podcasts today on the flight from SFO to DFW thanks to Odeo. As a follow-up to my previous post - Odeo First Look - I have no complaints. I did wonder how Apple’s iTunes version 4.9 was going to impact Odeo - I bet Evan and the guys have thought more about this than me. But, I did read a couple of Odeo reviews that asked the same question: Profile Odeo.
I spoke with Brian this morning and he reminded me that it isn’t going to be about THE service, instead it will be about the COMMUNITY. Apple has struggled with the peer review/recommendation idea and failed to really address it. Odeo’s recommendations might just give the service the oomf that it needs to succeed.

Here is what Alex wrote about one of our conversations last June, shortly after the iTunes announcement: I spoke with Brian this morning and he reminded me that it isn’t going to be about THE service, instead it will be about the COMMUNITY.
